Police Arrest Two Brothers for Burglary

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Police have arrested and charged two brothers for a residential burglary that happened Wednesday morning.

Police said neighbors called when they saw two men near the house on the 500 block of Guilford Avenue.

When officers arrived, both suspects, Corey Diehl and Charles Hull, fled the scene, but were both caught shortly after that.

Officers found the stolen property, plus a backpack containing weapons and ammunition.

"For the victim in this case, we're extremely happy we were able to get everything back, we didn't lose anything in that sense. And we caught somebody red handed so it's good for the community and the neighborhood," said Captain Paul Kifer with the Hagerstown Police Department.

Both Diehl and Hull have been charged with theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple counts of burglary.

"Preventing crime is letting criminals know that you're not going to come into our neighborhood and commit crimes because we're going to know you're doing something that shouldn't be doing. We're going to call law enforcement, law enforcement is going to respond and we're going to take the appropriate actions," said Captain Kifer.

Police said the suspects motive was to find valuables to sell for drugs.

Both men are being held at the Washington County Detention Center
