Williamsport High School student arrested for allegedly threatening to 'shoot up school'

The school resource officer told school officials about the threat on Wednesday

WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - A student at Williamsport High School was arrested today, after police said he allegedly made violent threats against the school. 

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said the school resource officer told school officials about the threat on Wednesday. 

A parent called in saying their child overheard others talking about another student making a threat to "shoot up the school." 

Police went to the juvenile's home before school started Thursday. He was arrested, processed by the Washington County Sheriff's Office and then released to his parents.
