Hagerstown mayor, council approve feasibility study for indoor sports complex

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Hagerstown Mayor and Council are considering bringing another indoor sports complex to Hagerstown.

At Tuesday's meeting, the mayor and council agreed to go forward with a feasibility study, which would look at the demand and potential use for the facility. According to Rodney Tissue, the complex would be used for sports such as basketball and soccer. Tissue added that the feasibility study is just the first phase and would take input from the public.

"We're reaching out to the community. We want to hear from you now as to what needs are out there. Where do you see young people in our community leaving the community to go to participate in sports elsewhere that could possibly stay here?" said Rodney Tissue, city engineer.

And Tissue says they are recommending that Victus Advisors conduct the first phase of the study.
