HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A Hagerstown church and adult daycare teamed up Wednesday to bring some Christmas cheer to some in the community that need it most.
Good Shepherd Ministries hosted a Christmas banquet for the Easter Seal's Adult Day Services, a program that helps and cares for adults that have medical and mental health needs.
Those in the program were treated to lunch, presents and even pictures with Santa Claus.
Each one of the presents were specifically bought by the congregation and personalized for each member of the program.
"The appreciation that these folks show when they open their presents and when they're a part of something like this, this means that they belong. For a lot of folks, it's been a long time since they felt that they belong,” remarked Deborah Lauricella, Assistant Director, Easter Seal’s Adult Day Services.
This marked the seventh year that the church and adult daycare came together to spread Christmas cheer.
