Case continues for Hagerstown police officer accused of stealing pain medication

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The case of a former Hagerstown police sergeant who allegedly stole pain medication from a paralyzed woman while in uniform has been pushed to July.

Christopher Barnett of Pennsylvania faces charges including four counts of malfeasance in office.

Barnett is due back in court July 19.

He was arrested outside of his home early February after video surfaced showing Barnett taking three oxycodone pills from a paralyzed woman's apartment at Potomac towers.

In the video, Barnett is seen returning four pills that were different in size shape and potency as well as $35 in "hush money.”
