HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Monday, city police made an arrest in connection to a shooting that occurred in Hagerstown this past weekend.
Detectives from the Hagerstown City Police Department have arrested 17 year-old Jacob Arroyo, of Hagerstown, for the shooting of 22 year-old Justin Caratini on Saturday morning.
Caratini, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was released from Meritus Medical Center and is now in police custody due to an outstanding warrant out of New York.
Arroyo is being charged as an adult and is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center.
He's being charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and other handgun-related violations.
The Hagerstown Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday morning just before 11 a.m.
Police responded to the 300-block of Mitchell Avenue in Hagerstown for a report of shots fired.
Officers said upon arrival, they located a 22 year-old man inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was transported to Meritus Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, where he remains in stable condition.
Officers learned through an investigation the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute between two individuals that are related. The incident began as a verbal dispute and escalated to a man being shot.
No names of those involved are being released at this time.
