Pittsburgh man sentenced to 80 years for sex abuse of a minor

FREDERICK, Md. - A Pittsburgh, Pa., man was sentenced on Friday in Frederick, Maryland to 80 years behind bars.

53-year-old Alejandro Garcia was found guilty of sex abuse of a minor, second degree rape, and multiple counts of second and third degree sex offenses earlier this year. 

In May of 2016, police began an investigation of a possible sexual abuse that occurred 8 to 13 years ago.  A press release from the State's Attorney for Frederick County reports that a pastor showed one father a letter that the victim had written, disclosing the abuse by Garcia. The father reported the incident to police where they revealed two other victims that occurred between 2003 and 2008.

Garcia will be required to serve 60 years before being eligible for parole. He would be required to register as a sex offender.
