MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. - A non-profit in Montgomery County aims to reduce food waste by giving good, fresh food to those in need and now they're expanding.
The program gives unused, fresh food that's from restaurants and grocery stores to people in need in the community. Nourish Now serves about 600 families each month. The non-profit has a new program called Food with Dignity, that aims to further reducer hunger in the community. Recipients can come more than once a month and they're connected with other resources in Montgomery County.
"We're really just trying to gage what it is to be food insecure on an individual family basis and move forward with that and hopefully bring food security to families in need," said Brett Meyers, founder of Nourish Now.
