Multiple gunshots fired at predominantly African American church

Nobody was harmed in the shootings

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Police in Montgomery County are investigating a crime committed against a house of worship.

Multiple bullet fragments and shell casings were found scattered around the New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church on Muncaster Mill Road.

The shots were first noticed on Wednesday evening.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found a bullet fragment in a window frame near the front entrance.

A second attack hit the church, when multiple gunshots were heard again on Thursday night.

No one was injured in either incident though a police cruiser is currently keeping guard at the entrance of the predominantly African American church.
