FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - A man lost control of his car on Monday morning which crashed into another car in Frederick County, Maryland.
Maryland State Police Troopers responded to I-70 Eastbound near MD 75 for a collision where a pick up truck struck the guardrail, hit a second car, and then crossed all lanes of traffic before hitting another guardrail.
The driver, Louis Schatz, 69, of Pasadena, Md., was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for his injuries. Troopers believe he suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.
The driver of the other car was not injured. Troopers from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division responded from the New Market Scale House to help in the investigation. The State Police Crash Team was notified and reconstruction of the crash was completed.
The investigation is on going.
