Frederick locals play Bingo to raise funds for Miss Frederick Scholarship program

Bingo winners took home designer handbags from Kate Spade and Michael Kors

FREDERICK, Md. - Nearly 100 people played designer bag bingo at the Lewistown Volunteer Fire Company hall. The game was hosted by Fredericktowne Sertoma Club to raise money for scholarships in Frederick County.

There were more than 20 brand new designer handbags from Kate Spade, Michael Kors, and Coach. Pageant winner Miss Frederick made a guest appearance at the event.

The bingo event proceeds will benefit the miss Frederick scholarship program. The executive director says last year they were able to give away nine thousand dollars in scholarships for local students in Frederick.

"It’s all about giving to your community in whatever way you can. Our focus at this time is our scholarship fund but our club also has supported many other community efforts and you got to have money to do that," says Sandy Waterman, Miss Frederick Scholarship Program executive director.

The organization will host another designer bag bingo on October 15th.
