Frederick Board of Aldermen candidates discuss current issues

Nine out of 10 candidates participated in the forum

FREDERICK, Md - It was debate night for the City of Frederick candidates on Thursday, and nine out of 10 Board of Aldermen candidates participated in a forum to address problems in the city.

Five democrats including Ben McShane, Derek Shackleford, Roger Wilson, Kelly Russell and Donna Kuzemchek and four republicans, Alan Imhoff, Hayden Duke, Bryan Chaney and Nate Power, participated in the forum held at the Bernard Brown Community Center.

Similar to the mayoral debate, candidates discussed the current financial struggles for residents in the city.

“I do think the questions were extremely relevant to getting an idea of how each of the Aldermen will currently address some of the issues,” said Frederick County resident Tiffany Ahalt.

Republican candidate Katie Bowersox was not in attendance for the forum.

The General Election for the City of Frederick is on Nov. 7. Early voting is on Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Frederick Senior Center.
