#FindUsFridays: Art for the Animals fundraiser at Howard's Art and Frames

Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Washington County

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A nearly month-long art-related fundraiser is starting in Hagerstown, with the proceeds going to help our four-legged friends at the Humane Society of Washington County!

This is the 12th year for the "Art for the Animals" fundraiser. Anyone can come to Howard's Art and Frames off Dual Highway, donate $1 to the Humane Society and a create a little artwork of their own on a 5x7 canvas. You can paint, draw or make any other kind of creation - and then, the work is hung on a wall to get auctioned off.

The store has raised more than $5,000 each year for various animal-related nonprofit organizations.

The opening reception will happen this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. There is then a silent auction, which lasts until October 21, where people can bid on the artwork and vote for their favorite piece. At 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, there will be a "tail-end reception," where Popular Choice awards are given out.
