Aliah Williamson News ReporterAliah Williamson joined the WDVM News team in May of 2017. She came to Hagerstown just days after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Hampton University with a bachelors of arts in Journalism and a minor in marketing. Aliah is a proud Hampton Pirate and enjoyed her four years in the Hampton Roads area. While in college, Aliah was a part of and had leadership roles in the Student Leadership Program, Student Government Association, National Association of Black Journalists and Kappa Tau Alpha Journalism Honors society. Aliah also took part in community service as a local pageant title holder and elementary school tutor.

Aliah discovered her love for news as an intern at WTKR News Channel 3 in Norfolk, Virginia. She started as an intern for their evening newscasts and later worked on their morning lifestyle show, Coast Live. In the summer, Aliah interned for WMAR in Baltimore where she continued learning her journalism skills. While in school, Aliah anchored and reported for WHOV-TV, the student run broadcast show at Hampton.

As a military child, Aliah has moved to several different states, but her roots are in Maryland and she is overjoyed to be close to a place she can call home. She thinks that the city of Hagerstown and the surrounding areas are beautiful and she is excited to begin exploring.

When not working, Aliah enjoys reading, catching the newest blockbuster movie or spending time with family and friends. She would like to continue mentoring and volunteering in order to become more of a part of the Hagerstown community.
